Dr Christina Angelopoulos will be joining CIPIL as a Lecturer in Intellectual Property Law as of 1 October 2016. Currently, Christina is a researcher at the Information Law and Policy Centre of the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) of the University of London. Before joining IALS, Christina was based at the Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam, where she wrote her PhD. This examines the European harmonisation of the liability of online intermediaries for the copyright infringements of third parties. Her thesis is due to be published as part of the Information Law Series of Kluwer Law International in 2016 under the title “The European Harmonisation of Intermediary Accessory Liability in Copyright”.

Aside from intermediary liability, Christina’s main research interest areas lie in the European harmonisation of information law, as well as the intersection between intellectual property rights and human rights (in particular freedom of expression and privacy) in the information society.
