Overview: General information on academic visitors to the Faculty of Law, including CIPIL, is provided here. CIPIL is open to considering requests to sponsor Visitors (including Herchel Smith Visiting Fellows) where the application is based on a strong existing connection to a CIPIL Member or, at the least, a strong and direct connection to research work being conducted within CIPIL.  In addition, it should be pointed out that the Herchel Smith Visiting Fellowship scheme is principally targeted towards senior academics.

Process: Expressions of interest should be sent to the CIPIL Director.  Applicants are asked to identify (i) when they hope to visit (preference will be given to those who intend to come during the academic year, and particularly during teaching time); (ii) what they are intending to work on (and who, if anyone, they might collaborate with, at CIPIL or more widely within the University of Cambridge), (iii) an up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV) and, if relevant, (iv) to agree that they would offer a seminar.  The personal data provided and/or processed will be used to manage, monitor and improve the Visitors’ Programme in furtherance of the University’s public interest tasks and will be retained for a long as reasonably necessary for such purposes.  Further relevant data protection information is available here.
