On the 11th of April, CIPIL’s Krzysztof Garstka presented his paper entitled "Between public security and data protection: legality of predictive Big Data surveillance within the EU data protection framework” at the annual conference of the British and Irish Law, Education and Technology Association (BILETA), which took place in Aberdeen, Scotland. Krzysztof’s presentation was based on the research conducted within the Human Rights, Big Data and Technology project. In discussing the legality of predictive Big Data Surveillance, Krzysztof drew particular attention to the legality of analytical activities involving processing of personal data.
